Stories for Change
A meeting place for community digital storytelling facilitators and advocates
"Stories for Change aims to connect and extend the network of workshop facilitators and organizations that have come together in community-based digital storytelling workshops. The site provides a space for members and visitors to share their favorite curriculum ideas, post the stories they create, and engage in meaningful conversations around the stories they watch."
Floatleft's Contribution
The first annual Gathering of Community Digital Storytelling (see blog at http://communitydigitalstorytellers.blogspot.com) was held at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in June 2006. It was at this gathering that Stories for Change was first conceived. Funding for the site was provided by MassIMPACT and a team of consultants and volunteers was formed to provide direction for the project. Floatleft was then hired along with designer Jason Lemieux of Vernal and together we helped them refine their ideas and goals to implement a solution that will grow with the community.
